Daffodil Day is when we remember people who have cancer, the people who care for them and the doctors who are trying to find a cure. We wore yellow on Daffodil Day and brought a gold coin donation for the Cancer Society.

It is Daffodil Day and we made daffodil windmills. We wore something yellow too and brought a gold coin for the Cancer Society. We are all thinking about people who have cancer, the doctors who care for them and the scientists who are trying to find a cure.

Making Seastars out of clay. We took care to roll the clay quickly so it didn't dry out too much. We made patterns on them with a pencil.

Making Wind Chimes or Mobiles at Discovery Time. When we went on our trip to the Rocky Shore we collected lots of shells and driftwood. At DIscovery Time, we had some Grandads come with a drill each, to help us make wind chimes. What a busy morning we had!

Our Trip to the Rocky Shore

We had a great day out at the rocky shore at Ruby Bay. We are learning about both sides of the rocky shore. We were in groups with an adult. We had to search for all sorts of creatures, in the rock pools as well as in the bush. We found limpets, crabs, sea stars, barnacles, periwinkles and sea worms! In the bush we saw a weta, centipedes and a wood pigeon.

On Friday March 7 we took part in Purple Cake Day activities. We collected donations to send to children in Kenya.

We went to visit the Life Education truck to learn about how we breathe. Harold the giraffe taught us that we breathe in Oxygen and breathe out Carbon Dioxide.

Week 5 was a busy week! We had Shrove Tuesday, Ash Wednesday and the Swimming Sports. Here we are receiving the ashes on our foreheads at our Ash Wednesday liturgy.
